P2) Students were set the below brief in pairs and asked to pitch 3 ideas to the rest of the group.
"You need to generate 3 detailed ideas for a new long form UK TV drama that uses the crime genre as a starting point. The program is being commissioned by Amazon Prime in order to attract a new customers drawing on the audience being cultivated for high quality crime drama - particularly from the states and Europe. The show will be released as a complete series and viewers can choose to watch each episode individually or as a whole series. The format of the show is 10 episodes of 55 minutes each, it must have a narrative structure that runs throughout the whole series. The show will need to have both a male and female lead actor."
P3/M1) Staff (acting as executive producers) chose four TV show ideas to take forward into "production"working in production teams of 6-8 students. The chosen treatment was then scripted individually by each student (Draft 1),P4/M2/D1) Receiving feedback from staff and on group read-throughs. Students then individually redrafted (Draft 2) and gave ideas for shooting and planning for shooting script.
P5) The final reflection process involved the entire group redrafting and amalgamating the 6-8 scripts into one final production script (Draft 3).
