Find out more about careers behind the camera! Could
you be part of the next generation of talent in Film, TV or Games?
To celebrate the release of Fast and Furious 9, Access
NFTS is running a series of events looking at some of the essential careers
behind the success of this popular movie franchise. Join us to find out more
about these careers, including hints and tips for success, pathways into the field
and an insight into a typical day (if there is such a thing). We will be
talking to experts with years of experience in the industry as well as students
currently preparing for their future career. We are also thrilled to have
guests who were involved in the film talking to us about their experiences.
These sessions are for you to discover new career pathways and help you see the
broad range of careers behind the camera in the Film, TV and Games Industry.
The sessions are for anyone interested, aspiring or
already involved in this industry. They are for you so it is your opportunity
to ask questions and find out if this could be the future for you.
To sign up simply click
here and complete the form via the link below and select the session(s) you
would like to attend. All sessions will be on Zoom and will be recorded for
future use by the NFTS. You must be over 16 to attend the live sessions.
Recordings may be made available to schools in due course. Please note that
while these sessions will discuss NFTS courses they are not specifically about
them. We will give all details regarding open days and finding further
information about our courses at the end of each session.
Confirmation emails including zoom links will be sent out
24 hours before each event.
Please do pass this on to any
colleagues/students/contacts you think would be interested in these sessions. I
have put the full link below for the sign up form. We will also promote them
via the NFTS and Access NFTS social media and the

Booking System Update
Hi everyone,
After half term, the booking system will be changing. To streamline the process, there will now be two slots for picking up and returning kit, one at 9am, and one at 12:30pm.
This will be the only time you can collect and return equipment, unless you are in a lesson that requires it.
The booking system will update on Friday morning to reflect this change. Any pre-existing bookings will be honoured.
As ever, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email sgamble@longroad.ac.uk or message Sam Gamble on Teams.
Thanks,
Sam

International Women’s Day
Nations and Regions Media Futures x BBC: International Women’s Day sessions
On International Women’s Day (Monday 8 March), Nations and
Regions: Media Futures is teaming up with the BBC for two virtual sessions to
celebrate women in the media.
Expect lively conversation and insights from four leading
BBC media experts to help you realise your own potential and carve out
your future career.
At 1pm is our BBC
Children’s event. You can hear from Blue Peter’s 39th presenter
Mwaka Mudenda and Helen Foulkes, Head of BBC Education, overseeing BBC
Bitesize, BBC Teach, BBC Food and the BBC’s educational campaigns. They will be
delving into how they developed their careers in television, the women who
inspired them and the pivotal role BBC Education has played during the
pandemic.
Then at 4pm don’t miss our BBC
Sport session. We’ll be joined by Pam Melbourne, Assistant Editor Major
Events at Radio Sport, and Helen Brown, Assistant Editor at BBC Sport, for a
special panel session. They will be discussing what an average day at BBC Sport
looks like (if there is one!), their routes into the industry, plus obstacles
they have had to overcome on the way.
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear from top BBC
industry professionals as we #ChooseToChallenge on this International Women’s
Day 2021. There will also be time during the session for an audience Q&A so
have your questions at the ready!
